Maryland's Port Administration has acquired more land in Southeast Baltimore. The Board of Public Works approved the purchase to expand the Seagirt Marine Terminal.

On Wednesday the board authorized the port to spend up to $92.5 million to acquire the land. The port expects to use the land for container storage.

Officials say the state will likely use about 70 acres of the land across Broening highway from Seagirt and sell the other 33 acres to another buyer.
