A 49-year-old male was struck and killed by a vehicle on East Belvedere Avenue Friday night.
According to police, Nathaniel Smith was walking westbound in the roadway along the curb. A Honda Fit was also traveling westbound on East Belvedere Avenue. The pedestrian suddenly changed direction, walking in the path of the Honda.
The driver swerved, but was not able to avoid hitting the pedestrian. The driver remained on the scene.
The victim was transported to Johns Hopkins Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
