The wares of about 40 other local vendors are now being sold at the "Made in Baltimore" pop-up shop along the Avenue in Hampden.

Arvay Adams describes his company, This Sporting Light, as "an artsy, fartsy sports apparel line." It combines his love of Baltimore, sports and history in the form of knit caps, baseball hats and bats.

You'll find Adams products at the pop up shop, which is opening in collaboration with SewLab USA and Strangers with Style.

"I feel its important to bring a farmer's market mentality to the rest of our consumables," said Jeremiah Jones, who works with SewLab USA. "It gives everybody an opportunity to see what is made here and what the potential is for our city and manufacturing."

For the Fly Nerd in your life, there is an entire line of t-shirts and sweatshirts just for them.

"Being a Fly Nerd pretty much means being confident in things other people might deem weird or quirky," said Andrea Tomlin, the creator of Nerd Fly Apparel.

She does all the screen printing and manufacturing in her basement. This is the second time she's worked with Made in Baltimore to be part of a pop-up shop and she's honored to be in the store.

"Just to be alongside so many other talented local artists and artisans, it's pretty cool," she said.

There is a grand opening party at "Made in Baltimore" Friday from 6-8 p.m. The store is located at 1021 W. 36th St. in Baltimore, right above the Double Dutch and Sixteen Ton store.

The store will be open Friday-Sunday from now until Dec. 11 from 12-7 p.m. From Dec. 16-24 it will be open every day from 12-7 p.m. It will also be open Dec. 30 and 31 from 2-6 p.m.
