The family of Tyriece Watson, a local rapper known as “Lor Scoota,” met outside of the former Royal Theater in West Baltimore Wednesday morning to speak out about his death.

Watson’s family and friends gathered with community leaders at Pennsylvania Avenue & West Lafayette Avenue to discuss plans to honor his “life and legacy of unity and peace,” the family said in release.

The family asked for prayers and said they hope he'll be remembered for more than just his music.

Public viewings will be held Thursday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Friday from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Wally's Funeral home on North Mount Street. A community gathering is scheduled for Friday in the 1500 block of Pennsylvania Avenue.

Police said Watson was leaving a peace rally at Morgan State University when he was shot and killed Saturday night at Harford and Moravia Roads.
