Commissioner Kevin Davis and State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby praised the two Baltimore Police officers who testified in the assault case against Officer Wesley Cagle last week.

"There's nothing more a good cop hates than a bad cop," Davis said in a Monday morning press conference at Baltimore Police headquarters.

Cagle was on trial for shooting the suspect after he was no longer considered to be a threat. He was also convicted of using a handgun during a violent crime.

The investigation found the other three officers who responded to the scene acted legally.

"We believe under this commissioner, this will become the rule, rather than the exception," State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby said of officers testifying against their co-workers.

Attorney Billy Murphy also spoke to the media Monday morning, questioning why the police union hadn't made any comments about the Cagle conviction. Murphy also criticized the media for not paying more attention to the Cagle case.

"In the din surrounding the wins and losses of prosecutors across the country who have attempted to do what Ms. Mosby has succeeded in doing, it is remarkable that the press did not cover and showcase what happened here.  If you notice, the police union is not congratulating either Ms. Mosby or the Commissioner in this case because it is not representative of this department and it is dominated by old white retired officers who come from an older generation where the blue wall is respected and honored," Murphy said.
