A Detroit musician helped a local forgotten celebrity to rest in peace Saturday afternoon.
Norman "Chubby" Chaney of the Little Rascals was born and raised in Baltimore. He died penniless in 1936 at the age of 21 from a glandular ailment. Chaney laid in an unmarked grave next to his mother in the Baltimore Cemetery for almost 80 years until a Michigan based musician decided to do something about it.
Rock musician "MIKAL" led a fundraising campaign and raised over $3,000 to buy head stones for both Norman and his mother Carolyn. The campaign was a success and the black marble headstones were revealed on Saturday afternoon to a small crowd gathered at the cemetery.
