BALTIMORE (WMAR) -
Baltimore Police will resume some training exercises only one week after a trainee was shot during a training session at the Rosewood State Hospital in Baltimore County.
Police spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi says limited training will resume early next week, however, firearms practices will be moved to the end of the curriculum.
All academy training was suspended after an instructor, Officer William Kern, accidentally shot a trainee in the head on Tuesday.
Baltimore City Police Commissioner Anthony Batts called in the State Training Commission yesterday for an audit of the Department's procedures.
Following the shooting six Baltimore City Officers were suspended from the academy indefinitely pending the outcome of the investigation.
The trainee remains in critical condition.
