That's why one organization is making sure area kids get at least one traditional meal to celebrate the holiday this week.
Penn North Safe Zone teamed up with Dr. Jamal Bryant and Empowerment Temple to provide a restaurant catered Thanksgiving dinner.
Many of kids got the chance to experience an elegant décor of round tables draped in beautiful linen.
Island Quisine, a Caribbean restaurant donated the entire meal Thanksgiving dinner with a Caribbean twist.
Local artists also stopped by to join the holiday fun.
