Former Johns Hopkins University coach Bob Scott dies

Prominent Johns Hopkins University coach Bob Scott died Thursday night.

He was 86.

Scott graduated a star from Forrest Park High School and continued to shine at Johns Hopkins. After a tour of duty with the U.S. Army, Scott came back to the Homewood campus.

Scott coached Hopkins to seven national championships. He spent time coaching lacrosse, football, basketball, wrestling and soccer.

After leaving the coaching ranks he moved into the front office, serving as athletic director.

A memorial service is being planned for next week.
