BALTIMORE - Family, friends, and classmates came to Southern Baptist Church on Saturday to remember 13-year-old Monae Turnage, who lost her life way too soon.
Turnage was found dead on March 4th behind a Darley Park home under some trash bags. Police say 2 boys, 12 and 13-years-old, were playing with a .22-caliber rifle when they shot her.
On Saturday Morning, Hundreds of people came out to honor how Turnage lived.
Monae's Aunt, Paulette Marshall, said "She was just a lovely, lovely young lady. She was a happy person, very outspoken, very outgoing, she was just a beautiful person."
"I think god allowed us to have an angel is our presence for a short period of time" said Alton Bizzelle, Monae's teacher.
The two boys have been charged as juveniles with involuntary manslaughter. The off-duty police officer who was there at the time of the shooting has been suspended.
