BALTIMORE, Md. - At least 15,000 people entered the new Horseshoe Casino in Baltimore during the facility's first six hours of operation.
Casino officials said they were pleased overall with how the opening of Maryland's fifth casino went following its grand opening at 9 p.m. Tuesday. It took about three hours for all of those waiting in line to make it inside the casino, which has a capacity of 6,800 people.

While there were no reports of any major crimes or other related incidents, Horseshoe general manager Chad Barnhill said there were lessons to be learned from last night,
"Moving people a little quicker is a lesson we've learned and we look forward to implementing those lessons moving forward on future large-volume days," he said.
Most of those who made the trek to the casino last night and today were impressed with what they saw.
This includes Pikesville resident Steven Sachs, who said he takes some of his employees to nearby Maryland Live! once a month as a bonus.
"I wanted to check out the competition," he said.
