BALTIMORE - The new Johns Hopkins Pediatric Sleep Center at Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital incorporates the latest non-invasive diagnostic sleep technologies.
According to Dr. Laura Sterni, Director of Pulmonology at the Johns Hopkins Sleep Center at MWPH, many childhood conditions such as obesity, autism spectrum disorders, and developmental disabilities are on the rise. Because of this, there is a great need for a pediatric sleep center in Baltimore, Dr. Sterni said.
The sleep lab will have specially trained staff that are equipped to meet the needs of children being tested for sleep disorders who also have developmental or behavioral conditions.
The new sleep center's ribbon cutting came together after a year-long project between Johns Hopkins and MWPH.
