Local police and fire departments along with elected officials joined together to help ABC2 celebrate its 15th annual Kindertime Toy Drive.

The toys have been piling up over the past several week and today police cars and other emergency vehicles lined up on York Road ready to deliver the toys to kids in need.

ABC2 News photo journalist Pete O’Neal started the toy drive 15 years ago to bring happiness to local children.

His inspiration began with a tragedy. He found his mother murdered in her East Baltimore home. He started a toy drive to honor her. And the entire community has rallied around it.

Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz gave O'Neal a proclamation in recognition of the toy drive celebrating its 15th anniversary.
