A new trash wheel is being added to the family!

The Maryland Department of Transportation Maryland Port Administration (MDOT MPA) is inviting the public to help name a trash wheel for Masonville Cove.

Before this wheel, there were Mr. Trash Wheel and Professor Trash Wheel.

"We are excited to engage the public in helping us name our newest trash wheel to be used at Masonville Cove," said MDOT MPA Director of Harbor Development Chris Correale. "The Masonville Cove story is already a remarkable one. We look forward to keeping it clean and environmentally beneficial for many years."

Anyone can vote by clicking here and select a name from the five finalists. The names include Captain Trash Wheel; Uncle Curtis; Trashzilla; Oscar; and Trash Smasher.

You can vote until Thursday, October 26 and the winner will be named in early November. The trash wheel will begin operation with its new name in 2018!

The new trash wheel will be designed similarly to the other two but will be smaller. It will be built to the specific conditions of Masonville Cove and will be primarily active during significant rain evens.
