BALTIMORE - In an effort to continue to help homeless veterans, a new transitional home was opened today.
The goal is to make sure every veteran who wants one, will have a bed available to sleep in.
The ribbon cutting ceremony was held at the home, located on Baker Street in Northwest Baltimore.
It's all part of the Baltimore Station, a program which has purchased and renovated several townhouses in the area to be used for housing for homeless vets.
This project broke ground in January of 2009, to help with the high demand the group is experiencing.
Officials say the demand for transitional housing will continue to increase with more and more veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.
