'Greatest show on Earth' takes new meaning

BALTIMORE (WMAR) -

Tonight there was a room full of kids from the Casey Cares Foundation getting the VIP treatment with some pre-show sights and sounds under the big top.

"It's really fun and it's great because I'm not there. I'm having fun and all, not at the hospital seeing all of the rooms and all," 11-year-old Julianna Carver said.

"It was devastating, something that you always think happens to someone else not your family but it did,"  Tammy Carver, mother to Julianna, said.

Carver has experienced things at such a young age that many people never have to go through.  Tonight gave Carver and her family a chance to relax and breathe a little.

The Case Cares Foundation treated several families to the greatest show on earth.  There was a clown or two, great food, coloring books, stuffed animals and a photo opportunity with the Baltimore Ravens' Arthur Jones.

"Cancer has been kind of hard for me and my family too. It's been going on since I was five so it's been going on for a long time," Julianna said.
