Baltimore City Fire Department officials rescued two cats in as many days.
Firefighters responded to a fire in the 3000 block of E. Northern Parkway and a person living in the home told firefighters that there was a cat trapped in the basement. Crews were able to rescue the animal and controlled the fire within half an hour.

"Units did a great job of rescuing that cat," Sam Johnson, a spokesman for the fire department, said in an email.
And the animal rescues didn't stop there. On Tuesday, firefighters assigned to Truck 23 rescued a kitten who was stuck in the wall of a vacant home, officials said on Facebook.
According to the post, officials were alerted after a citizen heard the sound of meowing.
