The Smith College Club Book Sale began as a fundraiser to support an endowed scholarship fund for Baltimore area women to attend Smith College in Northampton, MA.
Instead of fashion shows and silent auctions, it's a used book sale.The event grew from free space on North Avenue to the Towson Armory to the Timonium Fairgrounds.
This year is the 58th and final year of the book sale. Organizers said it takes more women power and money to put it on than the money they get out of it.
You can visit the last book sale at the Timonium Fairgrounds Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday is half-priced day.
