Ten years ago, a cadet firefighter lost her life.

On Thursday, a special ceremony was held in honor of Racheal Wilson, a firefighter and EMT recruit when she died during a training exercise on South Calverton Road.

To mark the 10th anniversary of her death, the African-American Fire Fighters Historical Society presented a proclamation at the site where she died.

Wilson was the first female member of Baltimore City Fire Department to die in the line of duty.
