Teaching little kids has always been a goal for Tiffany Woolson.
"I just love the fact that they're so young, that I can get on the floor with them and I can learn with them," she said.
She sees herself as the make-it-or-break it teacher when it comes to fostering her five-year-olds' love of school.
"With them being so young, I want them to like to come to school, to want to learn, and to want that drive with their education."
Part of making the learning process fun is having an engaging classroom setting. Woolson puts in a lot of time and money, much of the money is her own, to create her perfect space.
So imagine her shock when she walked into her classroom the morning of November 10, 2015 and saw her classroom completely destroyed.
"It was heartbreaking, to say the least," she said.
Overnight, vandals broke in Edgecombe Circle, trashing several classrooms and hallways.
"I was crying because to me, this is my second home," Woolson said. "You feel violated in the sense that the things you work so hard to provide for these children are just destroyed."
Woolson wasted no time getting things back in order so her students could get back to school. Principal Gloria Pulley says this is just one example of Woolson's passion for her job.
"Mrs. Woolson is very dedicated to her boys and girls and always comes to school each day prepared for her students," said Pulley. "I don't know who is more excited about learning, the students or her."
"It's so rewarding to go home every night and knowing you impacted these kids," said Woolson. "That they came to school for you, they love coming to see you everyday, and its truly rewarding."
