BALTIMORE - A Baltimore City Sheriff's Deputy is on the way to Shock Trauma after being shot inside the juvenile detention center.
A Sheriff's Office spokesperson tells ABC2 News that a weapon discharged inside the detention center on North Gay Street.
One of their deputies was taken to the hospital for treatment.
According to a Baltimore City Fire Department spokesperson, medics took the deputy to University of Maryland Shock Trauma.
UPDATE | Shots were fired by mistake
There is no word on how badly hurt the deputy is, but the injuries are not expected to be life-threatening.
