Crews were busy fighting two fires Tuesday morning after flames in a vacant building spread to another building in Northwest Baltimore.

Fire crews say the flames broke out around 2 a.m. at a vacant home near the intersection of Garrison Blvd. and Duvall Ave. The fire started inside of the home and spread to an assisted living facility next door.

The area between Garrison Blvd. and Dennison Ave. was shut down as firefighters worked to extinguish the flames.

Firefighters helped rescue two people inside the homes and everyone made it out of the facility safely.
