Baltimore's Confederate symbols are going under the microscope.

Today, a special commission charged with reviewing all of the Confederate monuments in the city is meeting for the first time.

Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake created the panel after people started pushing for Robert E. Lee Park to be renamed, and have General Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson statutes taken down.

Over the next six months, the panel will review all the city-owned Confederate monuments and make their recommendations for their future in Baltimore.

There will be a public hearing in December.
