A crowd gathered on Frederick Avenue Wednesday night to show their respect for the six lives that were lost Tuesday morning in the tragic bus crash.

Family and friends gathered to with balloons and flowers to sign their names and light candles. Cheryl Harris was a friend to Ebonee Baker, the driver of the MTA bus who perished in the crash.

"She was a mother, she was a wife, she was a sister, and we lost one of our own; I mean, she was a fallen hero," Harris said.

Hundreds of mourners gathered, many with sorrow in their hearts. But there was a common theme -- a theme of love.

"Love people, why we are here," said Jonean McLain. "All the grudges, anything -- stop it, because life is too short."

A lantern was released into the sky, sent to those who lost their lives. We hope you rest in peace.
