Baltimore declares Code Red for Wednesday

BALTIMORE - With high temperatures predicted over the next several days, the Baltimore Health Department has declared a Code Red for Wednesday.

Temperatures are predicted to hit the mid-90s Wednesday with the possibility for a heat index well over 100.

"We want to make sure that everyone in Baltimore take appropriate precautions to ensure their safety during the expected hot weather," says interim Health Commissioner Dr. Jacquelyn Duval-Harvey.

Because of the high temperatures and heat index the city will be opening cooling centers to help residents.
