You send your children off to school every morning, and you trust they are safe. For one student at Leith Walk Elementary/Middle School, that didn't happen.

During the school day Friday, Baltimore Police say the 13-year-old girl cut class and was walking the hallways, when three boys grabbed her and shoved her inside a janitor's closet. Two of the teens then forced their classmate to do sexual acts.

"I'm disappointed, I’m frustrated, and most importantly I’m scared,” Parent Felix Maple said. “I'm scared for the young girl and I’m scared for any other young girl."
Two of the boys involved are 14 year old, and the other is 15 years old. Both have been arrested.
"My son, he's getting ready to go to middle school, I don't know if I’m gonna send him here cuz of what happened," said Burton.
School officials released a statement said they're working with Baltimore Police to investigate and parents have been notified of the incident.
The full statement reads:
“The details of the incident reported to have occurred at Leith Walk Elementary/Middle School are deeply disturbing, and City Schools is cooperating fully with the Baltimore Police Department's investigation into this matter. Parents were notified on Friday afternoon that an incident was under investigation, and community meetings are scheduled at the school this week to provide families with updated information and to address their questions. Our primary concern is the well-being of our students, and we are providing support and counseling at the school beginning today.”
The first meeting with parents was held at the middle school Monday at 3 p.m, and another is scheduled for Tuesday afternoon at 4:30 p.m.
Parents we spoke with say the way the school is run leaves students vulnerable, and they're concerned.
"The big kids, they just roam the hall, seem like the teachers can't even get no control of them,” Burton said. “So they need a better security system, better staff, I mean, it don't, it's not adding up."
"I really think the current administration appears to not have any concern for the welfare, the safety, and in some instances, the education of our children at that school,” said Maple. “It needs to change."
Maple’s daughter graduates from the middle school in about a month. He made sure they talked about the assault and she knows what to do if she's violated or attacked.
"I want her kicking, I want her screaming, I want her fighting," he said.
The three boys have been charged as juveniles. One 14-year-old and the 15-year-old face sexual-assault charges, and the other 14-year-old is charged with second-degree assault and conspiracy.
