Kids at Baltimore's Ronald McDonald House got a holiday surprise Sunday when the Carnival Cruise Line in partnership with Dr. Seuss Enterprises hosted a 'Merry Grinchmas.'

The celebration included appearances from The Grinch and other Dr. Suess characters. In addition to reading "Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas," the Carnival staff recreated the line's popular holiday show with the ship's singers and dancers.

"The Carnival entertainment team not only spread smiles and holiday cheer to the families staying at the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Baltimore, but delivered a very generous and much appreciated gift that will go towards providing care to those who use our services in the coming year," said Ronald McDonald House Charities of Baltimore president, Sandy Pagnotti.

Carnival Cruise line presented the hospital with a $10,000 donation and the children were given Dr. Seuss-themed gift bags.

"As a proud member of the Baltimore community, we're delighted to support Ronald McDonald House Charities of Baltimore and create memorable moments for these wonderful kids at this special time of year," said Carnival president, Christine Duffy.
