Burglar falls to his death

BALTIMORE (WMAR) - Baltimore City Police are still investigating the death of a man who was burglarizing a Roland Park home at the time of his death.

Police say they responded to the 4500 block of Roland Avenue at about 12:20 p.m. Monday for reports of a burglary in progress.

The investigation has revealed that the resident of the single family home had parked his car in his garage and upon going to his home, he noticed an unknown male on his third floor balcony.

The suspect attempted to climb over the railing when he lost his grip and footing and fell about 26 - 28 feet onto a concrete driveway. When emergency crews arrived the suspect was unresponsive. He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

At the home, police say there were obvious signs of a burglary including a broken window and a ransacked home.

Police have not yet identified the man, pending notification of next of kin.
