Blood drive organized in honor of wounded city police officer

BALTIMORE - Baltimore police officers are coming together to support a co-worker who is fighting to survive.

Sgt. Keith McNeill of the Baltimore Police Department was critically injured in a shooting earlier this month.

Now the Fraternal Order of Police and the city police are holding a blood drive in his honor to help save other lives.

The drive is set for 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. next Wednesday, April 2 at the FOP Hall, located at 3920 Buena Vista Ave.

The FOP says McNeill, a 19-year veteran of the department, remains in critical condition and must undergo several more surgeries.

Police charged Gregg Thomas, 34, with attempted murder in the shooting.
