Black Girls Vote and The Penn North Kids Safe Zone will host mock campaigns and a general election to elect the first President for the Kids Safe Zone Tuesday.

The Kids Safe zone will transform into a "polling station" where the election will take place.

Children ages 5 to 17 years old were sworn in as registered voters Monday for the mock campaign.

If elected, the Kids Safe Zone President will serve a term of six months.

Two girls, ages 12 and 13, are running for the title of president and learned the importance of voting and life skills, such as speech writing and campaign strategies.

Black Girls Vote and The Penn North Kids Safe Zone have partnered to inform the children, girls in particular, how powerful their vote is and also the importance of participating in the voting process.
