BALTIMORE (AP) - Baltimore Gas and Electric Company officials say they've finalized an agreement with the University of Maryland Medical System to use an electric company facility as an alternative landing site for medevac helicopters.

BGE officials say they'll have a test helicopter flight and patient transport from the site Thursday. BGE says a helicopter will land at BGE's Spring Gardens Facility and a mannequin will be transported by private ambulance to the University of Maryland Medical Center.

BGE says the simulation will take place between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.

BGE says community members should know that the landing is not an actual emergency and that the Spring Gardens Facility will be an alternate landing in the event that the hospital's rooftop helipad is unavailable.
