Ben Jealous meeting Baltimore officials to discuss city's role in gubernatorial campaign

Democratic gubernatorial candidate Ben Jealous will meet with several Baltimore officials to discuss the city's importance in the race for governor, the Jealous campaign said in a statement Wednesday.

The event will discuss Jealous' pathway to victory, highlighting his plans for improving the state's economy, healthcare, education, and more through championing his campaign's policy initiatives, the release said.

Jealous will meet with with Baltimore Mayor Catherine Pugh, Congressman Elijah E. Cummings, and other city officials. He has already captured the endorsements of several Baltimore representatives, including: Pugh, Cummings, Congressman John Sarbanes, Senator Shirley Nathan-Pulliam, Senator Mary Washington, Delegate Samuel Rosenberg, Delegate Talmadge Branch, Councilman Ryan Dorsey, Councilman Bill Henry, Councilwoman Sharon Middleton, Councilman Edward Reisinger, Councilman Robert Stokes, Councilwoman Shannon Sneed, Councilman Kris Burnett, Councilman Brandon Scott, and Councilman Zeke Cohen.

The officials will meet at 6 p.m. at the Star Spangled Banner Flag House in Baltimore.
