Jack Pane mastered his trade as a barber at the ripe old age of 8-years-old.  At 13-years-old, he was the best shaver in all of Sicily.  Then he was invited to Baltimore.  He and his sister came over without a penny in their pocket and could speak a lick of English. He went to work for Tony Trotta on Erdman Ave. His first customer was Drapey Santoro.

Jack later went with Sam LaMantia to open Gentleman's Gentleman on Joppa Road in October of 1968. Sam was very influential in Jack's career.

Then 40 years ago Jack opened Gioacchino’s on Belair Road.  The American Dream!
