You may have noticed some new additions to Baltimore streets over the last couple months.

Speed cameras on the roads started ticketing people on July 31, 2017, and over 30,000 tickets have been mailed out since.

You can get a $40 ticket if you drive at least 12 miles per hour over the speed limit, while driving through city school zones. School zone speed monitoring systems are active Monday-Friday from 6:00 a.m. through 8:00 p.m.

Work zone speed monitoring systems are operational 24 hours a day throughout the year.

With 30,248 tickets given out since the end of July, the city could potentially have generated $1,209,920.

In addition to speed monitoring systems, red light systems recently started mailing out tickets as well.

If you run a red light you can face a $75 ticket, 24/7. The program started on August 30 and since September 6 - 3,331 tickets have been mailed out. This means that the city could have generated $249,825.
