BALTIMORE - A Baltimore police officer has agreed to resign for secretly recording a phone conversation with a judge, according to Baltimore Police.
Police said Carlos Vila recorded a phone conversation with a Baltimore City judge and played it for another listener.
In exchange for Vila's resignation, the State's Attorney Office will drop criminal charges. According to the agreement, Vila may not seek future employment with law enforcement.
"This officer violated the law and has accepted responsibility for his conduct. This agreement is a just outcome for all involved, including our citizens," State's Attorney Gregg L. Bernstein said in a statement.
