BALTIMORE - The Baltimore Police Department is looking for a few good men and women, so naturally they thought of veterans.
Today, the department held a special hiring event aimed at recruiting military members.
Carl Peters with HERO2HIRED says "last year our goal was to hire from service men and women approximately a hundred service members."
"The mayor has asked us to improve those numbers."
"We're hoping to double that number in fiscal year 2013."
Anyone who gets hired will get up to three years of retirement credit for active duty service.
The police department says they plan to have other military hiring events in the future.
