Baltimore Mayor Rawlings-Blake helps to tear down blight in the city

BALTIMORE - Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake will join forces with Housing Commissioner to help tear down vacant properties in Baltimore City.

The group will tear down blight in the 1600 Block of Normal Avenue in east Baltimore.

The Vacants to Value program aims at re-vitalizing neighborhoods by bringing vacant properties to good use.

There are thousands of vacant and dilapidated buildings in Baltimore City.

Today's tearing down started at 10 am.
