NEW ORLEANS (WMAR) - It did not take long after Jonathan Ogden was elected into the Hall of Fame before a proud Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake spoke out.
The mayor's office released the following statement congratulating the Pro Football Hall of Famer:
"This afternoon I was present for the official announcement that original-Raven and 11-time Pro Bowler Jonathan Ogden was inducted into the Hall of Fame. For twelve seasons he protected quarterbacks and established himself as one of the best offensive linemen of all time. In retirement, Jonathan stayed close to Baltimore. Through his charitable work, he is helping young people - including young athletes - develop the discipline and strength to become great adults. On behalf of the City of Baltimore, I want to congratulate Jonathan, and we look forward to seeing you be enshrined in Canton this Summer."
