Baltimore gym hosts Zumbathon to benefit ALS charities

BALTIMORE - There's a fun way you can break a sweat and help those who have ALS, all under one roof in Baltimore.

Merritt Athletic Club is hosting a Zumbathon on Friday to raise money for two charities that work to help those diagnosed with ALS, the Brigance Brigade and Augie's Quest.

The Brigance Brigade was started by former Ravens star OJ Brigance, who has lived with ALS for seven years.  Augie's Quest is the charity founded by Augie Nieto, who was diagnosed with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease, nearly 10 years ago.

Special guest appearances include Ravens kicker Justin Tucker and the Ravens cheerleaders.  The event starts at 5:30 p.m. at Merritt's downtown Baltimore location on Centre Street.  A minimum donation of $30 is required, which includes a Zumbathon t-shirt.
