Baltimore City Public Schools will host a town hall meeting Wednesday night to discuss the city's $130 million budget shortfall.
Art programs could be cut and up to 1,000 city school employees could lose their jobs if the budget gap is not filled.
Mayor Catherine Pugh has presented a plan proposing Baltimore City and the State of Maryland contribute an extra $180 million dollars to city schools over the next three years.

Residents can discuss the plan at the first in a series of town hall meetings hosted by the school system.
The meeting runs from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Baltimore City College, located at 3220 The Alameda.
Three more meetings will take place:

Monday, April 3, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
at Paul Laurence Dunbar High School, located at 1400 Orleans Street -
Wednesday, April 5, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
at Edmondson-Westside High School, located at 501 N. Athol Avenue -
Thursday, April 6, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
at New Era Academy, located at 2700 Seamon Avenue
A meeting was scheduled to take place Monday at Frederick Douglass High School but was canceled due to winter weather.
