Baltimore City Police gets new police cruisers

Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake and Police Commissioner Anthony Batts helped deliver 80 newly purchased cruisers  (Chevy Caprises) to officers in the Northeast District.

"Baltimore has made significant progress in reducing crime throughout Baltimore, and it is the result of hard work by the men and women of the Police Department," said Mayor Rawlings-Blake in statement. "These new vehicles will allow our officers to spend more time in our communities, and continue to make Baltimore a safer city."

The cars will have sophisticated mapping software that will better track stolen vehicles, and give officers real time access to criminal databases.
