BALTIMORE - The Baltimore City Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake and City Council members honored Matthew Hersl with a plaque Friday at the location where he died.
The plaque reads "At peace after 28 years of city service."
Hersl was struck by a car in April outside of his job at Baltimore City Hall.
Among those that honored him were his mother and brother Steve who said, "We all knew Matt was a Baltimore guy." (Watch the video for more.)
Hersl was a longtime Orioles fan and devoted his time to serving the city.
