Baltimore City officials cancel bulk trash collection amid snow warning

BALTIMORE - Bulk trash collection in Baltimore City has been canceled for tomorrow as officials brace for another round of snowfall.

The latest reports show accumulation between 3 and 5 inches, according to the National Weather Service.

"Long before yesterday's snowfall, Baltimore City has been working very hard to prepare for any emergency situation," said Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake in a release. "We have worked night and day to examine our operations, monitor conditions, and provide superior service to City residents. To this end, I have deployed additional inspectors to ensure that all roadways are plowed and salted."

City crews will be aided by a number of contractors, the release states, to address more narrow alleys and roadways particularly in Federal Hill, Mount Washington and Edmondson Village.

City residents can also follow the Department of Transportation at @BmoreCityDOT on Twitter and Facebook for updates.
