Baltimore City health officials announced that Baltimore City had the lowest infant mortality rate on record in 2015.

The infant mortality rate has declined by 38 percent since 2009.

The rate for African American infants has decreased by almost 50 percent.

B'more Healthy Babies has been working to decrease the three leading causes of infant death: premature birth, low birth weight birth, and unsafe sleep.

The private partnership was designed to make sure all babies are born at a healthy weight, full-term, and cared for by healthy families.
