Baltimore City creates youth council

If you want to better understand kids, you should talk to them. That's what the Baltimore Police Department is doing.

The city created a youth council, and will talk to young people living in the city about the issues that are most important them.

Police say they will use the council to better understand how to work with young people in the city.

Police Commissioner Anthony Batts spoke to the kids chosen for the council Thursday.

Officials say this is the first youth council the department has set up.
