Having a toy gun could soon be against the law in Baltimore.
The Baltimore City Council is considering a ban on replica guns and could vote on the issue Monday. The ban would apply to any gun made to look like an actual weapon, including BB guns, pellet guns, machine guns, revolvers or pistols.
Carrying or owning a replica would result in a $250 fine and possibly jail time for repeat offenses.

City council members said the ban is intended to protect the children who play with these guns.
Back in April, 13-year-old Dedric Colvin was shot by a Baltimore police officer who saw him playing with a gun and perceived a threat. In Ohio, a 13-year-old was shot and killed while playing with a BB gun.
It’s still unclear how police would enforce the bill.
