The Baltimore City Council introduced a bill to legalize stun guns Monday.
The legislationwould allow people to own or use the electronic control device as a form of non-lethal self-defense at home or in public.
According to the City Council, a person who is a risk to public safety would not be allowed to have a stun gun with this bill in place.
Earlier this year, Baltimore County and Howard County voted to repeal their bans on stun guns in response to a federal lawsuit.
