The Baltimore City Council introduced a bill supporting the Guns for Bail program Monday.
According to the GunBail website, the program was founded by Baltimore-native Trevor Brooks as a way to get illegal guns off the street.
The program would allow people to use an app to turn in guns to make bail, instead of paying cash or staying in jail.
The City Council bill would also ask law enforcement officers to discuss how the program could be created and what would help make the program successful.
