Lives were changed in an instant the moment two buses buses collided in southwest Baltimore Tuesday morning.
Michelle Kennedy, one of those who survived the wreck sat next to her attorney, Billy Murphy, and recounted the incident Wednesday evening.
Murphy said she was suffering the effects of a concussion.
"I'm in so much pain. It hurts," she said as tears fell down her cheeks.
Kennedy was on the No. 10 bus Tuesday. She'd been riding it to work for about eight months, she said.
"I didn't know this was going to happen," she said.
Kennedy said she woke up late, forcing her to catch the bus at 6:25 a.m., which she said was later than she usually did.
"I was talking to someone, and then the next thing I know, I woke up on the floor with glass in my mouth. I had lost consciousness," Kennedy said.
Help eventually came and she was pulled to safety.
Murphy called for justice, saying that would come through legal actions.
"So they don't have to pay even more than being hurt by paying for their own medical care," said Murphy.
Kennedy said she decided to speak with the press so "the ones that survived, they can be able to get justice, because we all need it. We need to know why it happened."
The accident is still under investigation.
