BALTIMORE (AP) - Seven baby penguins will take their first plunge in the outdoor pool with the rest of the colony at the Maryland zoo in Baltimore.

On Thursday morning, Penguin Coast staff will introduce the chicks, all born in October and November, to the outdoor pool to swim with the other adult and older juvenile penguins at the zoo.

Five other penguin chicks were born during the 2016-2017 breeding season, but those baby birds are still too young to swim outdoors.

The chicks are named: Hydra, Apollo, Luna, Hubble, Io, Sputnik and Sirius.
